Maribor, Slovenia's second-largest city, has a lot to offer an explorer. Not only is it home to the Oldest Vine in the world, located in the historic Lent area of the city. But it's also home to countless sights. A 15th-century castle, an even older cathedral, a synagogue and plenty of interesting squares to wander around. There's also the mighty Drava River to see as you complete your quest.
This exciting Mini Adventure leads you from the Lent area of Maribor, along the Drava, past the Water Tower and to the Old Vine itself. Then on to the Judgement Tower which was linked to the witch trials that once took place in the city. Visit the numerous squares, where you will see such sights as the Plague Monument, the impressive City Hall and Maribor Castle. From Trg Svobode Square you can enjoy a beautiful lovely view of the surrounding countryside, towards the city hill, Piramida, where the old castle once stood.
