Koper is Slovenia's only port city and as such is a centre for business and industry. The cruise terminal is located only 200m from the old city centre and it brings over 100,000 visitors to the port every year. If one of these mighty cruise liners is in port when you take part in this Mini Adventure, you'll get the chance to wonder at it.
This Mini Adventure takes in all the main attractions of the compact medieval town centre, including the harbour with its cafes, restaurants and shops. Here you will find the Taverna, a 15th-century salt warehouse. There's even a town beach if you fancy a relaxing dip after exploring all Koper has to offer. Wander the historic streets and look for clues. They're scattered everywhere, including in the main square (Titov trg), which is full of interesting buildings, including the Praetorian Palace, the most impressive building in Koper.
Step back in time on the narrow pedestrianised Čevljarska ulica (Cobbler's Street), which leads to the Da Ponte Fountain. It means bridge in Italian, which is fitting as it's shaped like a bridge! Not far from here is the Muda Gate, the last of 12 entrances that once stood in the city walls. Discovering the secrets of Koper will be an exciting and rewarding adventure, one that you and your loved ones will always treasure.
